What is an AI-ready industrial PC?

A conventional industrial computer is built to survive dust, vibration and temperature swings. An AI-ready industrial PC adds a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) — in our case the Hailo-8 accelerator with up to 26 TOPS — so that deep learning models for defect detection, object recognition and dimensional measurement run in real time at the edge, without a bulky GPU workstation and without sending images to the cloud. The result is low-latency inference, lower power consumption, a fanless enclosure that fits inside a machine cabinet, and full control over sensitive production data.

Why edge AI instead of cloud AI?

On a production line every millisecond counts. Edge inference keeps decisions local, so a pass/fail signal reaches the PLC or reject mechanism within the cycle time, even when the plant network is slow or offline. Data never leaves the factory, which simplifies compliance with privacy and IP-protection policies, and there are no recurring cloud costs tied to the number of images processed. With Edge AI Learning, models can still be retrained and updated over time — under your governance.
